A huge shout out and thank you to the food blog EnjoyEverySandwich for the terrific review of my Apple Cider Donuts!
“I’ve decided this fall that a great cider donut served fresh and hot is indulgent to the point that it should be classified as an illegal narcotic, and these didn’t disappoint.”
Just try to get me to stop smiling

This lovely note arrived in my inbox yesterday! A delicious treat for a baker to say the least! Thank you for taking the time to send this Pam, it means a lot to me, and I am thrilled that you were so pleased. I hope to see you and your hubby again soon.
“We stopped by your shop late Saturday and bought your ginger-molasses cookies as a hostess gift when we met my son’s future in-laws. They were such a hit!!! Thanks for keeping the small bakery alive. We’re from Syracuse, NY and don’t have a shop like yours here. Sure wish we did! Any chance you’d share the recipe? (Molasses are my hubby’s favorite and he fell in love with your cookies! I’ve never found a recipe that makes as moist a cookie as yours.) Thanks again for your delicious treats! Regards~ Pam Mellor
Flour Girls Baking Co. now has its own channel on YouTube. I am deeply grateful to Melissa Sepulveda, (http://mojaphoto.com) for photographing my cookies!
Some might think starting a new business during a recession may not have the best outcome, but today’s entrepreneurs know that any success doesn’t come without risk and a lot of hard work. For baker Jill Houck of Marion those realities are as fresh as cookies out of the oven.
When Houck decided to start Flour Girls Baking Company in March of 2007 she had to overcome big obstacles, one of which was that she had no work space except her kitchen stove, and that wasn’t going to pass muster with practicality or the local board of health. The former Tabor Academy Spanish teacher and mother of two did some research and found a public kitchen to mix and bake her specialty cakes and cookies.
“I rent Dartmouth Grange,” Houck explained over a cup of Jim’s Organic Coffee, which she serves at the 4 Cottage St. bake shop she opened on Dec. 10. “It’s a shared-use kitchen and the hours are very flexible. It’s open 24 hours. Some times I go in at night or in the morning. You pay by the hour.”

Thank you for this awesome note Kate! I am very grateful for your kind words and the positive feedback.
Hi Jill,
I’m writing to let you know that we recently tried you ginger molasses cookie and how delicious it was. It brought back many sweet memories for myself and my Mom. As my grandmother always made those. I wanted to check out your website to find places that we could purchase your delicious treats. I found these at the Chateau in Norton. Again, thank you for sharing something so incredibly delicious. And now I’m on the look out to find more of you!
Sincerely,
Kate
